UAIE™
Accessibility for every reader.
Universal Adaptive Interface Engine. A software product family from Fiza Pathan Publishing (OPC) Private Limited, built around a single principle: accessibility that never interrupts — because the user is in total control.
What UAIE is
UAIE is a family of accessibility tools that read alongside, rather than over the top of, the writers and readers it serves. It does not replace anyone’s words. It does not collect anyone’s data. It works in the browser, in Microsoft Word, and on Android, in more than thirty languages.
UAIE is invented by Fiza Pathan and published by Fiza Pathan Publishing (OPC) Private Limited. Patent application is pending. UAIE™ is a registered trademark of the company; trademark applications are pending across multiple classes.
The product family
Browser extensions
UAIE in the browser brings text-to-speech with word-by-word highlighting, plain-language rewrites at six progressive levels, Grade 2 Unified English Braille export, dyslexia reading support, focus and noise sounds, the UAIE Sign system, an accessibility audit, and translation in 17 languages directly into the page the reader is on. Available on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.

UAIE for Microsoft Word
Fourteen accessibility features built into the Word task pane. The seven original modules — Reading Companion, Grade 2 UEB Braille, Plain Language, Translate, Dyslexia Font, UAIE Sign, and the teacher-grade Accessibility Audit — are joined by seven new modules in the second phase: the Cognitive Load Indicator, Multiple Intelligences (Howard Gardner's nine), Syllable Break View, Visual Profiles, the Colour-Blindness Preview, the Reading Ruler, and Focus Sounds.
The interface is in 30+ languages, with full right-to-left support for Arabic and Urdu. Microsoft AppSource submission is in preparation.
UAIE for Android
The Android application carries the seven original UAIE accessibility modules onto the device, with the same opt-in, no-telemetry, single-undo design that runs through the family.
The pedagogy behind UAIE: UDIL™
UAIE rests on UDIL — Universal Design for Inclusive Learning — an original theoretical contribution by Fiza Pathan that extends the long-established Universal Design for Learning framework from the curriculum layer into the interface layer itself. UDIL is built on three axioms: Relocation, Learner Sovereignty, and Unconditional Provision. Every UAIE module is designed against these three principles.
Where the curriculum-side framework asks teachers to offer multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement, UDIL asks the same of the software interface. The user, not the system, decides when accessibility is invoked, what it does, and when it stops.
The seven non-negotiable principles
UAIE is built on seven principles, encoded into every module:
- Opt-in everything. Nothing activates until the user explicitly clicks.
- Ctrl+Z respect. Every change is one undoable operation.
- Zero auto-run. The interface never opens on its own.
- Zero telemetry. No analytics, no pings, no callback URLs, no cookies.
- Transparent operations. A status indicator always shows what the software is doing.
- Clean removal. Uninstall leaves the document, the page, and the device untouched.
- No modals, no interruptions.
Standards
The UAIE interfaces are designed and self-certified to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, with reference also to EN 301 549 (the European harmonised accessibility standard), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of the United States, and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 of India. A formal third-party audit is planned to follow institutional pilot deployment.
The Accessibility Statement for UAIE for Microsoft Word is published at uaie.fizapathanpublishing.us/accessibility-statement.html.
Privacy
UAIE has no server. UAIE does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There are no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no callback URLs. This is a non-negotiable design principle, encoded into every module of every product in the family.
The Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Agreement for UAIE for Microsoft Word are published at uaie.fizapathanpublishing.us/privacy-policy.html and uaie.fizapathanpublishing.us/dpa.html.
Licensing and institutional use
UAIE is offered under a three-tier model. The free tier covers the great majority of features and is offered as a commercial grant at the company’s sole discretion, revocable at any time. The bring-your-own-API-key tier (for Plain Language levels three to six and the Translate module) places the user in direct, billed control of their language-model provider. The institutional tier covers white-labelling, per-student deployment, and bespoke licensing arrangements for schools, universities, libraries, and corporates.
